Transitional Retreat 4.jpg

Chestermere Residence

We worked with this client over several years to tackle several areas in their home, including the complete development of an unfinished walkout basement.

We worked with a winter prairie palette of golds, greys, blues and creams to keep the rooms feeling fresh and contemporary, but also warm.

Planning the space in the new walkout development required a lot of thought in terms of how to accommodate space for entertaining, relaxing with family and hosting both event-based and longer term guests.

The finished space required an entertainment bar, guest room and bath, media zone, play area for the kids and mudroom entry for accessing the home’s generous backyard.

The Details

Contemporary, chrome accents. Statement lighting and a soft palette drawn from the surrounding landscape.

The finished bar includes a sink area, side-by-side wine and beverage fridges, pullouts for garbage and recycling, an ice maker, a mix of open and closed storage, display space and a social pull-up seating bar. (There are 56 pieces of glassware stored in those cabinets!) It feels spacious and open and it was as difficult to nail as it sounds.
